Don’t make it hard for google to index your site
If you want to attract search engine traffic, the last thing you want to do is make it difficult for search engines to index your site. The term Index simply means that google, or any other search engine has visited your site and knows exactly what is on that site. Make sure your site design doesn’t present unnecessary obstacles to search engines. While visual tools like Images , graphics and videos are important in order to communicate with visitors, when google comes to index your site it’s mostly interested in text. It’s the text content that holds the most weight with googles ranking algorithm. During the development of your site make sure to consider both users and search engines. Each page should include relevant text-based content and avoid features like Flash animation, Frames and image maps .
Another simple yet highly effective way to assist google in indexing all the pages on your site is to include a sitemap. A sitemap is a list of all the pages on your site with links to each page which google can easily follow. You often find these at the bottom of websites. While humans can use them to locate a specific page quickly their main reason for existing is to keep the search engines happy.
